In October 2019 I painted this mural on the new facade of the Reil76 in Halle.
The house was build about 100 years ago. In 2015 it was bought by its inhabitants, who collectively renovate the building. They want to live together in a solidary way, reconstruct and keep the house as a collective project, rather than reselling it in the real estate market.
Rising rents and gentrification are slowly starting to affect the city of Halle and therefore the inhabitants of Reil76 want to use their house to provide cheap housing, collective living on a long term bases and create spaces for progressive, emancipatory groups.
Last year they build a new roof and renovated this facade, which was a lot of work for all of the inhabitants. So I was very happy to able to paint this mural for them.
